Harassed By NCO Financial? Here are some tips you can use right now to gain control over the abusive NCO phone calls.

  1. First and foremost remember that you do have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act even if you do owe the debt!
  2. Remain calm and do not resort to screaming or crying during the course of the conversation, remain in control.
  3. Do not be bullied by NCO Financial or any other debt collector, into agreeing to anything at all over the phone, until you have had time to review all the information on the debt.
  4. Once you've been contacted by phone, ask NCO for all the details of the amount they are attempting to collect from you. You have the right to get a notice that outlines your specific debt, whom you owe money to, and what action you can take if the debt does not belong to you.
  5. Keep a communications log of all calls from NCO Financial so you have a written record of dates and times of each call.
  6. If you can, record the conversation with NCO Financial or any other debt collector, check your states laws to find out if this is an acceptable practice in your state.
  7. Make certain you have copies of all written correspondence with NCO and keep everything organized in a file for easy access.
